Cousins' Camp 2011

This past week we have been in Snohomish, WA for our biannual Cousins' Camp. This year we had an Indian theme and we all had a blast. There was archery, canoeing, and all sorts of fun stuff. We spent a lot of time together, which was great since 6 of my cousins are moving to Maryland tomorrow.  :(  Cousins' Camp is finally over and we are heading home tomorrow. My "tribe" was called the Buttercup tribe after my Grandma's new cat. Can't wait to get home! I'll post pictures soon.

Korea Part 1

Sorry I kind of dropped the gnome, Grandma. :) Luckily our awesome Korean relatives fixed it with some super glue.
Translation: poop bread. Honestly I am not joking. Sometimes Koreans are gross.
View of Seoul from the Namsam Tower. It was the last place we went to in Seoul.
This guy kept on blinking everytime we tried to take a picture. He was pretty gutsy.
Prison in Seoul. That flag is huge.
This is how the poop bread is actually supposed to look. Fish shaped with custard filling. Just think donut.

Better picture without me.

Coco: the starfish miracle

Coco came to Starfish in March. It was her 2nd birthday and she couldn't sit up. We think that the orphanage swaddled her all day long, restricting her from movement. When we came to Starfish a week after, she could sit up. She was still really serious and was pretty good at entertaining herself. The reason she was abandoned was because she is missing the radius (like a wrist) in her right hand. By the time we left she was being more interactive and if you tried hard you could make her giggle. She would sit on the floor and look at books for hours. She would even flip pages with her right hand! We also taught her how to wave her hand as a greeting. She is famous for going "huh?!" everytime someone comes in or when she wants attention. You always do it back and get rewarded with a big smile. In May we heard that she was a super giggly girl and she was even playing with her toes. Yesterday Amanda (the director) said that when she walked into the room, Coco was standing up in her crib! Talk about miracles. Coco's papers are already in process, so we are just waiting for her to get matched with a family. I hope that someday I will get to see her again to see all of the progress that she has made. To progress this much in 2 months is awesome! You've just got to be amazed at all that Starfish does for these kids (150 of them). Someone adopt her, she's a angel! Just remember that she hates acupuncture!

Up to Washington we go

We leave to Washington tomorrow for my cousin, Abby's, baptism. Abby is such a sweet girl and is always trying to help out. We'll be driving there early tomorrow morning and coming back late at night. 8 hours in the car with 5 sibling will be a little interesting like always.
Also check out very jane's website. My onesies for the Starfish Foster Home will be on there tomorrow (the 11th) for 33% off. They're super dooper cute and there is a link to my website on there. I also added more headbands onto my shop.

Never ending barkdust

On Tuesday my mom finally ordered our barkdust. "21 yards, no big deal." I thought. Do not ever get 21 yards of barkdust. My arms were sore after the first hour (i had been doing my piano teacher's the last week). It only took us 3 days, but I am sure that is only because we had help from the Woodwards and the Knaupps. We forgot to take pictures. :(

Yesterday our barkdusting turned into a water fight, and I ended up being pretty soaked. I luckily had a change of clothes upstairs unlike Jacob who is why I was soaked in the first place. It was really fun.
